    Some lovely shots there Catherine, both from a snow and bird point of view. Do you get regular Greenfinches?

    Good to see a 'Vocal' Pied wagtail! and Thrush 'Perfect Picture' is very rare in this area nowadays ( Mistle Thrush even more so) Nuthatch i have never seen anywhere tho have seen some Treecreepers

    Thanks for your comments, gentlemen. I'll pass them on to Glen - as (apart from the PW and Robin on the ground tray) these were his pics - taken on his D60.

    I have some good landscape-type ones of the snow, but my own camera didn't like the light contrast for close-ups.

    Of course, I suppose I COULD have tried the 'manual' settings.....

    Rolf, we do have 'regular Greenfinches', but only a few these days, whereas we used to have tens of them...

    Philip, The Song Thrush is a regular visitor - sometimes there are two. It is really shy though, and easily chased off by the more aggressive and more numerous Blackbirds.

    The Pied Wagtail is a feisty little bird. He/she arrived when I tried dried mealworms for the first time a week ago, and chases Robins and Blackbirds away from that tray!
