A Duesenberg in Miniature by Louis Chenot

1932 SJ Duesenberg LaGrande dual-cowl phaeton. Not only does it look good, but the engine runs, the lights work, the top mechanism functions and the transmission and driveline are complete. Lou started his research on this project over fifty years ago with the purchase of a book and through the following years collected many drawings and studied a number of Duesenbergs while they were being restored, taking photos and recording dimensions.

    Beautiful model! What workmanship!

I have seen a real Duesenberg at Beaulieu, but I don't think it was that model. I'm sure it was newer.

When Lord Montagu (owner of Beaulieu and the Motor Museum) was asked, "Are there any gaps in the museum's 300-strong collection?" His reply was, "Numbers aren't important, it's the quality that matters, although I'd like to have a Model A Duesenberg. It is the great American car and I've often tried to get one, but without success."

So the marque is well-thought-of too!

That is stunning! I am always amazed at how dedicated some people can be.
But what is he going to do with his spare time now?
