    Some great close-ups there, Rolf!

Is no. 4 Hornet? I know they love nesting in or near orchards in France. We once encountered a nest inside a hollow pear tree at our gite. Guess what part of the garden we avoided after that!

Yes it is Catherine, the darks coloured Bees are Carpenter Bees, quite large, the first Butterfly is a female Wall Butterfly, second obviously a Red Admiral, think the Dragonfly is a Broad-bodied Chaser, but will have to check.

The ladybird was a bit of an odd one, will have to do some research. Also saw a couple of Scarce Swallowtails, but they were perched high in the conifers, did get an iffy photo of one in flight.
