    Default Springwatch - 'cleaner bees'

Did anyone see the item on tonight's 'Springwatch' about a chap who has spotted some bees who groom verroa mites off each other and quickly clear out infected larvae?
He has discovered that it is definitely in the genes rather than learned so is trying to breed the numbers up.
That could make a big difference to the honey bee population. Possibly some very good news.

It was fascinating - and I hope that will be the start of Bee recovery too!

I think there is a greater variety of subjects on this year's Springwatch - most being really interesting - though I didn't like the other parasites they showed last night - the ones on humans I mean!

Oh yes, although it's interesting, I hate seeing those closeups of human parasites... I always leave, itching!!!
