    Default Egg laying behaviour of Silver-washed Fritillary

    We stood in a small woodland clearing for ages waiting for the beautiful Fritillary to land, but typically it only came to rest briefly in blind spots or out of lens range. It was only when I looked at this long distance photo on the large screen that I realised it was probably looking for suitable egg laying spots.
