Tracking Happy feet the lost penguin

Im sure you must have seen the story of the lost emperor penguin who ended up on a beach in New Zealand.

Well last week he was put on a ship heading south and has been released.

He's now heading slowly southwards back toward Antarctica He's got a satellite tracking system on him and you can follow his progress home here:

Followed him for a few days, but he seemed to be moving very slowly south eastwards, rather than more quickly south-westwards, then read this today;

I still cannot understand why they didn't wait for a ship which was going to (or a bit nearer) the Antarctic. I really hope the zoo people's work has not been in vain and that there will be a happy ending after all.
