    We have a new resident!

Had to re-site the box last week after problems with weather, etc.

Just 6 days later - and this little blue Tit took up residence! First visit | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

I'm hoping it's a 'she' and that she'll encourage her mate to make this 'home' for a new family in 2013.

Excellent news Catherine, need to move my nestbox, it's been used several times, but never lasts the season, they always desert it.

It was a very sad story in the end, Rolf. Just as three of the six eggs she laid had hatched, a Sparrowhawk took the female. The male tried to get the young to eat, but was being rather clumsy about it. A few hours later, the chicks died as it was a bit cold outside. The male continued to go in and out of the box for several days before giving up.

That's a shame Catherine, cleaned out my nestbox last week and there was an old nest in there with a single Blue tit's egg, such a tiny thing.
