Default purple and green winged orchid. silverdale.

a small patch of purple orchids, mixed in with green winged orchids can be found growing in pasture at silverdale. ( not too far from leighton moss rspb.)
they used to grow abundantly in limestone soil. alas they are not too common now. a small, national trust, signpost is located near to the site to tell you about them. the rest of the land was filled with daisies and buttercups. it was quite pretty. the meadow overlooks morecame bay.

Nice shots Andy, I have a renewed interest in wild flowers, since seeing the Military Orchids over in France, so will be keeping an eye out from now on for interesting ones.
