    most of my efforts are digi-scoped, using an opticron hr66 scope, pentax optio v15 digital camera and homemade adaptor.+ a panasonic lumix fz28

    Default fungi i.d. please

    this fungus was growing around the base of a tree trunk at leighton moss. i'm not up on toadstools ect . but i bet one of you brightsparks will know. it was quite a large growth and was just by the doorway to one of the hides.

    The first one I believe is Non gilled fungi 'Coriolus versicolor'
    The second one looks like 'Disc Fungi - peziza repanda

    But I could be wrong

    i'm not sure , but i thought they could be the same species. the second pic was taken a little higher up the trunk. but as i say i'm no expert

    I'm no expert But I have this (more than useless) book and that is all I can go on.
    Am waiting for a decent book to come in to the book shop. They come in at a 1/4 th of the normal price as hey receive bankrupt book shops stuff ,you know

    we have a shop like that in preston, you can pick up some decent books quite cheap
