    Default Common Darter

If I'm correct with this being a Common Darter is there an easy way of separating it from its similar relatives.

Thanks Beryl and thats an excellent site for ID etc. Cheshire is quite close to our county of Lancashire......thanks again Beryl. I use the Dragonflies UK website but they are all good in their own right.

Your welcome Pete. I use this site a great deal . How ever it is still very difficult some times as they aren't all listed.

    Great shot Pete, missed it.

I find that one good difference to spot between the Common and the Ruddy Darter is the body shape, the Ruddy being much thinner in the middle.

The equipment I use is a Canon 30D with Sigma 50-500mm lens. I also have a garden hide from which I take most of my pictures.
