Yes, saw one last year and was in awe of its size, particularly the wingspan. Also known as the flying barn door.

Happy to split the prize Catherine

I see now - to my horror that I mixed up all the thrush that I have.

and that Rolf´s answer was correct - sorry for that Rolf (and Catherine still looking and searching)

    So it was really !

Bruntrast Dusky ThrushTurdus eunomus I was fooled by the Siberian and the last name in Latin but I guess that we both mean the same bird.

    OK ?

Not one we get in the UK, would be nice though. I think it's a Great Grey Owl, Strix bebulosa.

I´ll be happy to support some "Swedish" information - if You guys keep it up You will soon be fluently speaking the language of the Vikings

Mindre sångsvan Tundra Swan Cygnus columbianus

In English this name (mindre) has nothing to do with the English or Latin name !!

So, what did Sherlock do ? Find a bird, checked it´s Swedish name and said Aha, I found it(Archimedes)

Anyway Rolf, good work and nice fiding !

BTW Rolf is a common Swedish name - You got some Viking blood ?
