Default Snowy Owl spotted in Cornwall

"A snowy owl has been spotted in Cornwall for the first time since 1948, according to local bird watchers.

The bird, which is native to the Arctic Circle, was first seen in the Isles of Scilly, before it arrived in Zennor, near St Ives.

John Chapple, a local bird watcher, said the owl appeared 10 days ago and bird enthusiasts have been travelling to see it from around the UK.

He said the bird was a young one and seemed "happy and content" to be there."

Yes this is the one to get the 'twitchers' jumping into their cars from near and far. An exciting bird to see and something of a chance in a lifetime event turning up in Devon......go and see it!

Devon would be too warm I think. Cornwall can be very cold I spent a very cold winter there at RNAS Culdrose. Very cold and very deep snow that year 1962

Ahh. Yes I thought you might Pete
It is rather cold now for Devon but not really cold enough for the Snowy Owl and Exmouth & districtis the warmest place in Devon.
