    I think caused by the bird in the top right hand corner
    Avocets Curlews, Lapwings and others went berserk

    Yes a close inspection shows a fork tail but I can't be sure.
    I only took two photos . one lot went in a different direction and it was total chaos

    The equipment I use is a Canon 30D with Sigma 50-500mm lens. I also have a garden hide from which I take most of my pictures.

    Yes it is usually very noisy when that happens. I was quite away off at the time

    There are c.400 birds in your pic Beryl (Black-tailed Godwits) and I'm sure you are correct about the bird at the top right hand of the pic.

    Yes Pete some Black-tailed godwits. I did capture them feeding but we have so many I left them out this time.
    There is a peregrine around there that I have captured with a Black-tailed godwit earlier this year but the bird in the photo above has more like Buzzard wings where the peregrine 's wings are more pointed
