The equipment I use is a Canon 30D with Sigma 50-500mm lens. I also have a garden hide from which I take most of my pictures.

    Default Nuthatch

First time this week I have seen the Nuthatch using the feeder, normally he goes to the tree trunk for fat or the peanuts but I managed to buy some black sunflower. I have only managed to get the striped sunflower recently but they much prefer the complete black sunflower the best

Another excellent study Babs. I've found that mine prefer the hulled sunflower seeds, they make less mess as well.

rolf, do you mean the hearts if so mine love them too and I had both on offer today but all the birds went for the black sunflower which I also find is also a favourite of the Bullfinches. Today I also had six greenfinches arrive together, they too fed on the blacksunflower
