    Default Alternative Winter Poem

The dawn was cold the snow was deep
It piled up high whilst I did sleep
I ventured out to clear the land
With shovel nestled in my hand
But what surprise beneath the snow
A sheet of ice which laid me low
My feet went up, oh what a farce
I landed on my big fat. . . . . . . . Brother (who was helping me clear the snow)

Do I detect this being a variation of Wordsworth's 'Daffodils'? The rhyming and rhythm are similar, but the storyline is definitely unique!

    Well done, Rolf!

    The poem of the Daffodil
Was by my mucker Wordsworth, Bill
My poem rythm may well match
But by compare is not a patch.
