    Default Thinking of spring..

Now that it's National Nestbox week, I thought I'd post these pics of last year's Beattie family.

Well, actually mainly pics of the last little Beattie to leave the nestbox!

I loved that last little fledgling. He thought he was hiding from me just because the leaf was over his eye!

    Glad you like them, folks!

A pair of Blue Tits has shown a lot of interest in the box already - maybe last year's parents?

I'm going to move my box around the corner at the weekend, as it hasn't been used yet and I think it may be facing the wrong way.

Someone told me that facing north was best and facing south was worst - too hot inside the box.

That one faces almost directly east.

The equipment I use is a Canon 30D with Sigma 50-500mm lens. I also have a garden hide from which I take most of my pictures.

Excellent pics Catherine... can't wait . The next box above my patio doors has been used for the last couple of weeks by a pair of blue tits, I think they were keeping warm on the cold frosty nights. We have also put a nuthatch nest box in a tree at the back of the garden, keeping my fingers crossed xx
