Bats

Well we opened our front door last night and got a shock when we spotted bats flying past at waist height. On further investigation we saw three pips taking an interest in the brickwork beneath our front bedroom window, every now and then one would land on the brickwork for a moment and then fly off. After a short wait we were pleasantly surprised when one then two disappeared under the the brickwork. Well it's not actually brickwork but they are like tiles with gaps in between. Well tonight in the space of a few minutes we watched 10 bats leave one after another. We have watched bats in the back garden before flying and last year even put up a bat box, but no they prefer the front of the house under the brickwork. We are well pleased

Ooh, nice one, yet so many people would want to 'get someone out' to get rid of them. I never understand that.

We have go a bat detector so we can hear them just as they are about to leave when they start chattering. In the space of 10 minutes last night, I saw 17 leave the roost. I've asked my son to bring his video camera next time he calls.
