    Thumbs up During a heat wave in australia

    Koalas, if you don't know already, are not really social animals and don't come out of trees or down to the suburbs very often. But the main thing is, they don't actually drink water normally at any time. All their food and water is provided from the eucalyptus leaves they eat. That's why they sleep about 22 hours a day as the calories and liquid intake is not enough to keep them awake for long periods of time; while they are awake they consume enormous amounts of leaves.
