    Default Caterpillar - spiny & brown!

    I haven no idea what this is - have been looking for a while but can't see him on the net, any ideas anyone? It was on my lettuce.

    I reckon that it must be a moth as I really haven't seen anything but white butterflies in the garden, and it's not one of those.

    What a fantastic capture.Usually when I attempt close up shots it needs to be something that moves very slowly or not at all(that sounds a bit like me actually)

    Well, It may be a Buff Ermine moth.. but I'm not 100% sure.

    DIgidark.... this didn't move at all even when I pushed some of the greenery aside. I have to admit that a lot of my closeup photos are a little too shaky to put up! Even worse, when I get down to take a photo I am not always sure if I am going to get up again!

    Been trying to check this out, but it is very difficult to match, another possible option may be the Muslin Moth caterpillar. Will keep looking.

    At least that looks like the piccy in my book which I highly recommend
    It is Collins Complete British Insects by Michael Chinery and there are chapters on Moth and Caterpillar moths.ISBN 0-00-717966-9
