    Default Blackbird - Turdus merula

I seem to be surrounded by Blackbirds wherever I go - this was in the Reading town centre in the rather open, St Mary's Church Yard. He's sitting on a broken gravestone.
Annoyingly I should have got him pulling a long worm up,... but he did it JUST as I moved my spot so wasn't ready. Typical! ALthough I do have him with the worm, and returning to the nest with it.

The tree shot is where the nest is.

Oh, and I 'artistically bordered' the first one

Nice photos Louise, yes I've noticed what appears to be an increase in Blackbirds in the last 12 months.

Although there's one less around my place - I spotted a dead one on the verge yesterday - battered, but not enough to be cat-killed. I reckon it was hit by a car and then maybe mauled a bit afterwards
