    What I would like to know is, how come Coot chicks have red heads when the parents have white... or has there been a bit of hanky panky with a moorhen

    I'm sorry that I couldn't cut the volume of shots down. I wanted to show the fact that both parents were there, feeding the little ones, and how funny the 4 little chicks were... and I STILL had loads of other nice shots!

    The mother ( I assume) was with them all the time constantly turning over the greenery (as per the last shot) and the dad looked by diving. The colourful, fluffy bundles didn't hassle the parents the way other young birds seem to.
