Default A friends house in Blundellsands

Went to visit a friend ( a GP) on Sunday who has just had a pacemaker fitted, it was a beautiful day and I was rather taken by the micro climate there. His palm tree is exceptionally healthy, the miniature hawthorn was in full bloom as was his Yukka with those evil spikes

Must look up Blundellsands on a map, Neil!

His garden must indeed have a micro climate. He has some very beautiful and expensive plants there. Love the palm tree and the flowering Yucca - despite the spiny leaves! We have had a variegated version for about 6 years, and I'd be deelighted if it flowered like that one day!

Pretty Escallonia too - although they grow too quickly and aggressively to be favourites with us. We only have one in the garden, and it's there because its leaves are meant to be golden - but they're not!
