    Default greenshank. leighton moss rspb.

one of seven greenshanks spotted at leighton moss last sunday. this was taken from eric morecambe hide, which is a coastal hide. other birds of note seen here at the same time, included two spotted redshanks, five little gulls, a common sandpiper and a wood sandpiper. these topped a fine mornings birding, after being very lucky and seeing a hobby at the main reserve. at one point a marsh harrier and the hobby were in the same tree......though the hobby soon moved at a rapid rate of knots!!!!
the greenshank, here, is just practicing a few kung fu moves!!!

What beautiful feathers they have - nice shots, Andy.
The second shot is a pirouette, obviously a version of "Swan Lake"

The equipment I use is a Canon 30D with Sigma 50-500mm lens. I also have a garden hide from which I take most of my pictures.
