    Default Dragonflies

    Captured these in the park pond today. Had to wait ages for the Emperor to sit still and that was only for 3 shots

    1. Male Emperor Dragonfly-Anax imperator
    The largest dragonfly found in the British isles
    Average length: 78 mm. Average wingspan: 106 mm
    Length of larvae: 45-56

    2. The Ruddy Darter Dragonfly- Sympetrum striolatumone
    One of the shorter species of dragonfly found in the British Isles.
    Length 37mm. Wingspan: 57mm.
