Superb composition Ian, did you do anything special with it? The contrast is amazing. :)
I am trying out Photoshop Elements 7 Rolf. My wife has probs using Photoshop, its a bit too deep for her, so I'm hoping that Elements will better for her.
A lot of dodging and burning on individual sections was carried out, then the whole pic was adjusted using the Levels command
The composition was achieved by deciding what to leave out of the original and the using the Rule of Thirds. This is the proceedure I use on most of my images.
Rule of Thirds explanation in Tutorial section for those who arn't familiar with it. (Its under Landscape Tutorial 1)
Well it certainly worked, well done. :)
Have just tried printing from the hi res original. The result was acceptable(ish) but the paper just couldn't handle the range of tones.
That's a shame, I guess you need a specialist printer for that type of shot. You could try :: snapmad.com | welcome to snapmad - digital photo printing :: a 30x20 print for £12.79.:)
Thanks for the info Rolf
