Nice capture Chocky obviously a little camera shy. I love how they have a touch of colour on the tips of their wings:)
Thanks Babs
Yes. perhaps it is to re-enforce the lace
What a wonderful colour. Nice.
Thank you . :)
I have never seen a Scarlet Darter and Until I looked it up (being such a vivid red) I didn't know there was one
I'm not now sure of this being a scarlet Darter . I really need some one to Identify it.
Hhmm, looking at other photos on the net, it does appear that the body of this one isn't flattened enough. I wouldn't know as I've never eaven heard of it let alone seen one!
It's probably a Red Veined but the legs don't seam the right colour. Thing is the Scarlet Darter is rare in the UK so it probably is a Red Veined.
Looking at other photos on the net I think that it may well be a Red Veined Darter. Goodness, it's difficult isn't it!:conf40:
Yes. I think Rolf aught to have a look and I'll go by his opinion
have had a chat and shown this little chap to a friend who is a bit of a Whiz on Dragonflies and he is convinced it is s Common Darter Red variety (hard to find)
So have amended the title.
