Grey Heron
Walking toward the pond in the local park suddenly the heron flew up and almost straight at me. I had to adjust my lens he was so close. I actually though I was going to have to duck. He lost orientation as he must have been startled by some thing. Flew round in a circle and headed i the opposite way to the estuary. I'm sure he found his way in the end.
He was actually very large. Not a youngster

Yes. A little unnerving. But had to get some shots :D
Actually some shots are of only half of him he came so close

Excellent shots, Beryl! You certainly made the most of the chance you had!
Glad he didn't do a whoopsie when he flew over you though. They're rather big birds...;)

Thanks Catherine :)
Lol. I never thought about a heron plopping on ones head :-rolling

But you have to think ahead about these things, Beryl!
(I understand it is difficult to get rid of both the mess and the fishy smell afterwards!:13:)
