A friend of mine down in Cornwall was taking down a motorised satellite dish, only to find that after removing the dish and polar mount, there was a nest in the mounting mast. Needless to say he aborted the job and replaced the bracket on the top of the mast, The birds, Blue tits, later that day returned to inspect the nest. :)
These are not my photos, they were taken quickly at the time.
Unfortunately it appears that the birds have now deserted the nest, so not all well in the end and a sad end to the tale, it may well of course be that they would have deserted anyway, as I'd imagine the temperature would be quite high in the tube.
Here's another, this Wood Pigeon has nested in a Pyracantha next to our front door.
Got a quick snap of the young Woodie this morning, can't tell if there's more than one.
First time I've seen the squabs without a parent in the nest, great to be able to view a nest discretely from a window without affecting the birds. :)
Well, as many already know, things didn't go well for the squabs and the nest was raided, both were polished off by a fox we think, although probably not the fox knocking them out of the nest.
However, the parents then quickly moved to our Amelanchier tree in the back garden and produced another brace, this time to completion. :)
Further to this, another pair have taken the nest in the Amelanchier tree and are sitting on eggs. :)
Awwwww! They are not the prettiest of young birds, but I'm sure their mother loves them!;)
Must get an amelanchier tree in our next garden. We have a young WP here (with no 'floury thumb prints on neck) and he/she is too tame for words.
One pair of WPs never seem to leave the garden. The male just won't take 'no' for an answer when she is around - poor bird!:)

Looks like one has flown the nest this morning, one minute I looked out and it was exploring the branches, next minute it was gone, I'll try and catch the second one leaving, but unfortunately have to go out shortly.
I hope you manage to watch them feeding in the garden as it would be great for us to see them grow up!
Well he's back in the nest now, so may have been perched on the roof waiting for the parent to return. :)
OK, here they are, all together on our fence, been there most of the day off and on apparently. :)
