R.I.P. Norman Wisdom
He's not at the top of my list of favourite comedians, but he does bring back very comforting childhood memories. His black and white films were a staple of Saturday Afternoon and the cry "Mr Grimsdale" still echoes clearly through my head. The films don't appear too often nowadays, but when they do, if I have a little time to spare I will usually watch them.
What's also nice about him is that unlike so many comedians he appears to have been truly generous and happy, and in that way just like his "Pitkin" character.

Used to love the old Norman Wisdom films, a sad passing, but at least he a long innings.

Rainy Days in England when Norman Wisdom or Carry On Films brought Laughter and Awe into our Lives...x

Yes, he was a favourite of mine too. Saw him in a stage play - something like 'The Importance of being Earnest', but probably not that - and he was amazing.
Anyone who did not laugh or smile when he 'cracked up' with laughter wasn't breathing!
Loved the clip on TV where, after receiving his knighthood from the Queen, he turned to walk away, then made a pretend 'trip', causing HM to convulse with laughter!:)

Oh yes, Catherine, I'd forgotten about that... who else would think they should do something like that? :)
