Oldest known bird 13 years. Usually live for a few years only.
Robins will defend their territories to the death
-
That nicely answers one question Chocky. Thank you
It also kills the falicy that the same Robin comes back year after year. It is just another one that grabs the vacant territory
-
As for cheese. They do like cake etc what bird doesn't. But if you have regular Robin and you give it cheese I expect he'll eat it.
Birds go bananas when they see their reflection because to them it'a a rival. they don't know it is them selves they are looking at so the answer is Yes
PS. I learned that from Rolf , about the reflection

They love grated cheese. :)
The average lifespan of a bird like a Robin is quite low due to predation, but that doesn't mean that some of them don't live to good ages and return to the same garden every year. There is a very high mortality rate amongst the juvenile Robins, but I guess as they get older, they become more canny. :)

There you go.
I don't have a garden so I rely on reading what I can about them
-
Yes I agree Robins love cheese, most birds do I think especially the Wren and Blackbird. The Robins always chase the Dunnocks away in my garden but thankfully the Dunnocks keep coming back :)
