Pintail - Anas acuta
Went along Weasel Run to day long-side the estuary, The tide a in ans the whole of the reserve was covered in Wigeons and Pintail ducks.
There was much whistling going on
Here are some shots of a Pintail in his summer coat and the last one I think is a pair,Theyare similar in the summaer. In winter the male will have a chocolate brown hea with a white curve streak

Yes. They are lovely ducks . :) They are larger than the wigeons
There seems to be hundreds of Pintails and Wigeons I would love to have been there when they all flew in. I saw the Mallards when they flew in and it was magical. The estuary is alive with ducks and gulls now
