Don't know Hampstead to well but there is some lovely countryside around the Thames.

Yes there is up and down the Thames
Hampsted Heath is worth a visit but you would need a whole day really

might have to take a look there as I have more free time on my hands now.

Yes Hampstead Heath is a lovely plce. Mother used to take me there a lot when I was small.

I also like Hampstead Heath. Having grown up more or less in the country, I found it a great haven when I went to live in London.
