i noticed alot of bindweed around ibiza. i know its a pest, but the purple flowers looked stunning along the walls.
Oh, Andy, you must be kinder and call it Morning Glory!
There are many colours of Ipomoea (its posh name) and that really beautiful one is very like the purplish variety which I used to grow up the vine in our old greenhouse, giving the place a much-needed colour boost!

Apart from the large white-flowering one which is a pest in gardens as it chokes everything, there are a lot of beautiful varieties in the wild - even here! The tiny pink-flowered one which grows on the sea cliffs near us is one of my favourites!
Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them

Forgot to say, I like that white spider in one of those flowers!
Glad it's in the pic and not on my desk here!
well catherine, yet again i stand corrected!!! i have, heard of morning glory now you come to mention it, but just thought this was a purple form of the pest found in our gardens. should have twigged really, as i saw it grown, trailed, around arched doorways to more than one house while i was there.
it looked pretty to me.
p.s. well spotted.... i hadn't seen the spider until you pointed it out. i missed an oportunity to snap it close up . it looks unusual doesn't it.
Yes, that spider looks like one which either Rolf, Beryl, or someone else posted last week. It's not a Ghost Spider or something like that?
Oh, you were right to call it 'Bindweed', Andy, as it's the same thing. There are just SO many varieties. But 'Morning Glory' sounds better, doesn't it?
Not me I haven't seen a Crab Spider yet. It's easy to miss though
Nice set of photos andy
