    It's very sad - especially in the middle of the Rut.

    It makes me wonder why, in these days, it still is 'right' to put the head of the hunted up for display.

    OK, in olden times, before civilisation it may have been 'the norm'. But surely it is wrong to display the head of a defenceless animal on a wall after cowardly shooting it when the hunter could not miss, and the animal could not defend itself in any way?

    I agree Catherine, there are times when it is required to cull the numbers, but certainly not at rutting time and certainly not by overseas trophy hunters.
