Dvärgmås Little Gull Larus minutus

Right, Rolf! I go away for the day and you're right in there with the answer before I've had a minute minute to see the next clue!
Well done though! (Says she grudgingly!)
LOL, twas a last desperate guess.
Monday at last !
Well, I'm going for 'Raven' - Corvus corax
..........................even though it seems a bit brownish...
At least I've tried.......
Thank You for Your input !
I think (like You do ) that it is too brownish so, gimme a new guess please !
So then it has to be an Eagle or Hawk of sorts I suppose - but which one?
Difficult to see how much of a hook its very dark beak has..... and whether there are lighter shades on its chest.
I'll take time out at the mo' and have a look again later!
Good idea !
I think I'm stumped, Crister....
It doesn't have the yellow on the beak or the feather colouring of a Buzzard, and its feathers are definitely not right for a Golden Eagle, so unless it's a species found outwith our shores, I can't think what it is.
Will search further later.. Rolf, is it too hard for you too?
Have been having a look and the beak colour is difficult, but may be a trick of the light, if that is the case, the white strips on the tail feathers would perhaps indicate a White-tailed Eagle - Haliaeetus albicilla.
What white strips?
Can't see any here - even when magnified.
I see he has a metal ring, so is possibly quite a special bird though!
Yes it is !
White-tailed Eagle - Haliaeetus albicilla. In Swedish Havsörn.
Well found, great bird.
Was a bit of a guess Chris. There are light/white strips down the length of the tail feathers Catherine.
Hrrumph! (In the huff.)
It was a great pic angle-wise, but a dud pic ID-wise for me.
Shoot the photographer!
Here is a new fresh bird
Well I at first thought Warbler, but have drifted over to female Wheatear - Oenanthe oenanthe.
Not a bad try Rolf but just to make the day for Cathrine
Close but not really what I was looking for !
You are SO thoughtful, Crister!
Well, I thought female Linnet - until I looked at the beak again, then 'warbler' came into mind - so I'm going for Marsh Warbler - Acrocephalus palustris
- Well, at least that will rule out another bird!
And Louise has returned, so she'll get the answer before Rolf!
Hope she has a better guess.
LOL, I'm sticking with the Thrush family, so going for the Pied Wheatear, Female - Oenanthe pleschanka.
Oh, yes, it possibly is, Rolf - and if it isn't, it SHOULD be!
(Just a wee while since I've seen one of these, Crister.......)
Good news ! It is
Nunnestenskvätta Oenanthe pleschanka
<Very strange name in Swedish>
Come Monday come new bird
My, it is Monday !
and now it is Friday ? You guys need any hints ??
Well, this gal does anyway!
It looked a bit like a Chaffinch at first, but no wing markings, that tail shape and dark eye patch have confused.
It does seem to have a finch-type beak though.
Can I get any points for that?
Had a really good look now, is it a Jay? Garrulus glandarius.
Yes it is !
Nötskrika Eurasian Jay Garrulus glandarius
No extra points this time
Here is something easy for the weekenders
Seems to be a little upset.
Well, that was some weird-looking Jay, Crister!
But to show there are no hard feelings, I'm still going to keep trying -
So what about a Snow Bunting - Plectrophenax nivalis?
Yes it was a strange Jay or rather a special way to show the bird
else it would be too easy for You.
The new picture
is not (sorry to say) a snow bunting
Definitely a Redpoll, but would guess at an Arctic one, Carduelis hornemanni.
The arctic one just because we have some typical arctic weather here in the North
but Yes it is
Snösiska Arctic Redpoll Carduelis hornemanni
and we do have some really bad weather now.....
Monday bird ! What is this ???
Oh, it's lovely wee Wren, isn't it?
(Troglodytes troglodytes)
Looks a teeny bit bigger, perhaps Dunnock size Catherine. Prunella modularis.
I will wait
for an answer from Catherine........
But it is much prettier than a Dunnock, Rolf - and doesn't have a grey head!
I need to opt for St Kilda Wren now!
(And haven't a clue what its Linnaean name is.....)
Looks like an adult Female Catherine, head is not grey on top.
Järnsparv Dunnock Prunella modularis
Well Catherine what can I say when the Maestro have spoken
OK then! I must just have lots of male Dunnocks here
Not saying anything else about that!
(Couldn't see the eye stripe, but looked far too small for a Dunnock to me. Maybe the ones here are more butch in some ways!)
