I think you may be right Chocky, this is my target bird for this Christmas in France, as they normally knock around with Fieldfares.

I captured it last year in Mark's garden. It's a frequent visitor and I have some where it shows a bright red under wing but they were taken on other days and are blurred. I didn't have the camera I have now. It's quite a nice pic considering.
They don't seam to come down here. I haven't seen any.The Fieldfare is darker isn't it?

Yes, different colouring, I've never seen either over here, but they are winter passage visitors to most of England.
