What a haunting melody and what beautiful singers! we used to sing a song called 'Santa Lucia' at school - what a memory!
I remember the crown of candles from when I was young. I had a penpal in Sweden, a beautiful girl called Inger. She sent me a photo of her dressed as Santa (Sankta?) Lucia. Sadly, we were too young to keep the correspondence going, so lost touch. Had there been emails then, that wouldn't have happened. Writing and posting a letter was so laborious and rather expensive.
