Default BWPi: Birds of the Western Palearctic interactive 2.0-BWPi 2.0

Have had this DVD interactive computer program for some time now and have to say that it's superb. It shows details and pictures of pretty much any bird which is likely to visit our shores and by opening the split screen (as shown below), you can compare species side by side.

It also shows distribution maps, video clips and has sound recordings for song recognition.

It isn't cheap at £142.95, but in my opinion is well worth every penny and ideal for anyone interested in identifying birds, wouldn't want to be without mine.

For those who have an installed version from more than a year or so ago, and have had problems since the latest upgrade of Quicktime (v7.7.2) with photos not rendering, instead leaving a black background, there are two solutions, the first being to uninstall the new version of Quicktime and reinstall the last working version. http://support.apple.com/kb/DL762

The second is to email Birdguides and they should be able to offer a low cost alternative solution whereby you can keep upgrading your Quicktime versions without hobbling the BWPi program.
