    Looks like a Club-tailed Dragonfly Pete (according to my sheet) Gomphus vulgatissimus

    I'm not for taking anyone for granted but will see what Beryl has to say about it. Meanwhile I'm off to bed shortly getting past it you understand what with my advancing years and all......sad isn't it!

    Many thanks for your efforts to ID this creature Beryl/Rolf which I was hoping you was going to say was a female Black Darter.
