The equipment I use is a Canon 30D with Sigma 50-500mm lens. I also have a garden hide from which I take most of my pictures.

Where are your favourite places to either to watch or photograph the wild birds?

My favourite place has to be my garden, luckily I have managed to attract a wide variety of different birds. I enjoy watching them through the patio doors or photograph them from my garden hide.

This is followed closely by my local reserve at Pennington Flash, Leigh in Lancashire about 15 minutes drive away. There they have four hides one for the wild birds and three for the water birds. There are a couple of reserves nearer to me but I like Pennington the best.

I just wondered where your favourite places are

My favourite place is my sister's place in France, surrounded by countryside and packed with wildlife, unfortunately can only go there a couple of times a year.

My next favourite is the back garden, have taken some of my best photos from the window.

    I'm a lazy phographer really.

I don't get out much, so I really only meet nature in the garden. But, saying that, I find the idea that nature can be right on your doorstep (or even in your shed, eh Rolf?) absolutely wonderful... you expect it to be in the wild, but just outside? Priceless
