Rolf - I know Jays are notoriously difficult to get close to, but I've trained our pair well - I could photograph them all day now! I'm very lucky!

LOL, you must give us your training regime.

This time of year there are a few around us, but there are also loads of acorns and chestnuts in the adjacent copse, so haven't got a chance in our garden, but probably good as it happens, as the little birds aren't too keen on them.

Wow, what a shot, Jays don't hang around long once that have got wind of you. They are my favourite bird to photograph. One landed in my garden yeaterday but left as quickly as he had arrived. Excellent sharp shot with a great pose, hope you have put it in the gallery
