    Took a few more pictures when I managed to find a spare hour.

    This really is a nice place to spend a couple of hours on a warm day, whether just feeding the Ducks, Geese, Moorhens and Coots, or sitting and watching the Grebe and Tufted Ducks on the lake.

    Haven't seen too many of these, they are quite difficult to get the light balance right, as the head is very dark.

    Still have their little colony on the float offshore, great to watch, their flying skills are amazing.

    I bought an infrared filter, that photo was taken with my Fuji S5000 on pretty much normal settings. I've tried it on the E-500, but the time exposures need to be several seconds, as the camera has an IR cut filter inside.

    Oh. I'm not clued up on all the exposures and settings . I don't understand what the mnanuel is telling me.I will have to get some one to show me some time . I can learn more easily if shown

    You don't need to know too much, it is trial and error, the Infrared filer is a simple screw on job.

    Works best in strong sunlight, as the contrast is better.

    Yes I gathered that , I have a filter for sun light
    I may go for that infrared and get Matt to go fox hunnting or Owl hunting with me. may even see a badger
