    Talking Icicle madness

    Around our row of wee cottages a couple of miles from Galashiels. Taken this afternoon - there must be enough heat leaking out of the top floors to melt some of the snow on the roof

    The first picture - thats now one complete icicle from the gutter to our front door - its about 4 feet long.

    The third pic is next door - they take their lives in their hands coming out of the door!

    There are many beautiful icicles in the New Forest. I guess snow on branches has melted, then has frozen again just as it dripped down.

    I'm sending out 'my explorer' today to get a pic of a group near us. They blend together like a frozen waterfall! (Will post it later if he gets a good one!)

    Other places we can see them near hear are where people have dripping overflows, and don't seem to worry about leaving them like that! This one is just across the road!

    They've even started forming on plants here. This one is completely inundated. The second photo is a house down the road from me, although it was taken a couple of days ago.

    I've got a stunning cascade on my Rosemary. It's directly under the roof that gets the sun, so it's been collecting I really should try and get a full-on shot but it means going outside and clearing a load of snow and then kneeling down... I just couldn't be bothered
